Clinical Scientist in Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering specialising in Clinical Scientific Computing.

HCPC Registered Clinical Scientist and Chartered Engineer with a multidisciplinary clinical background spanning computational science, medical physics, clinical engineering and medical technology.

About Me

I am a HCPC Registered Clinical Scientist in Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering, specialising in Clinical Scientific Computing, Informatics and Computational Medicine. My work sits at the intersection of healthcare science, advanced medical technology and patient care.

I currently lead Clinical Scientific Computing & Informatics, focusing on the governance, development and integration of digital systems that support healthcare services. My interests include clinical systems governance, software as a medical device (SaMD), medical device development, computational medicine, computational physics, healthcare AI and digital healthcare science.

I completed my undergraduate degree in Computer Science at Teesside University and later an MSc by Research in Computer Science at the University of York, specialising in software engineering and human-computer interaction. I undertook postgraduate training in Medical Physics at the University of Newcastle and currently pursuing a Doctor of Clinical Science (DClinSci) at the University of Manchester.

I achieved HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist through Route II in Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering and have gained clinical experience across neurosciences, critical care, respiratory medicine, sleep medicine, clinical engineering, radiotherapy and medical physics.

I am currently undertaking the NHS Higher Specialist Training Programme in Clinical Bioinformatics (Physical Science), alongside the Doctor of Clinical Science (DClinSci) at the University of Manchester, training to become a consultant clinical scientist. This will enhance my career as a senior multidisciplinary healthcare scientist.
